My Accomplishments in Applied Tech
Hi I am an Applied Tech student My name is Daniela Castelan, and I am here to tell you all about my experience as an applied tech student. Well what we did first was we did a Photoshop project that we made for open house. We basically photo shopped little kids into a background of their choice for example a frozen themed background with Anna and Elsa or both of course some chose spider man, Winnie the Poo or other Disney themed backgrounds. That eventually ended up getting us into a competition called the OCDE Tech Showcase witch we unfortunately didn’t win State, just county.
The second competition we were in was the P21 Sustainability Contest. You all know how we are in a drought right? We invented this awesome new portable rain barrel that collects rain water from the roof when it rains that was what we presented at the P21 Sustainability Contest. Obviously we needed money so we could make the rain barrels right?? Well that’s why we made a student service grant award we got sponsored by a lot of people!! Our goal was to raise $400, and by the end of the month we did and that helped us build our rain barrel. The last competition we were in was the Microsoft “Choose to Code” Contest -$500 for that contest we had to make different codes it was really fun btw. We ended up winning $500 dollars in that contest and our teacher Mrs. Chang used that money to buy drawing tablets for our class.
